I really don't know where to start off with this book apart from saying 'wow'. This is the first book I've read that's in the fantasy line where I feel punch-drunk. If you're looking for action-packed fun from the first chapter, this book is not for you, but for those who like how a story unfolds, the twist and turns that can befall the main characters, and who like to think, then this is definitely for you.Celia and Marco, the main characters, are innocent bystanders in a game that was being playing out by other people for centuries. They are nothing more than puppets, but what their puppeteers don't realize is that they are human too and have the smarts to outplay the masters. And the other characters help them. This book is truly a masterpiece and I applaud Erin for the idea, the character relationships and the sheer beauty of the prose that can be found in this book. Her writing brought her characters alive for me in a way that it hasn't been for a long, long time. And the ending was bittersweet, but happy. And considering what Celia and Marco were up against, it was the best they could hope for. Freedom.Five Stars all the way.:)
