Dragonwitch - Anne Elisabeth Stengl The magic continues in this new book for the epic series, Tales of Goldstone Wood. I first got to know this series when I read and reviewed 'Starflower' not so long ago. I fell in love with that book and I've done the exact same thing with this book. There's something really remarkable about high fantasy, dragons, magic and that underlying prophecy that keeps the story flowing smoothly until you've read the very last page. There's that theme of believing in yourself and that you can be better than what people have labelled you as. It was fun, action-packed, light with romance, brimmed to the fill with mythical creatures and humans alike. And even better, it brings back old favorites like Eanrin and Starflower.I really liked the unique way this, and the other novels, have been written. It's like I'm getting two stories for the price of one. I get be to excited about the heroes and, at the same time, I get to know what drove the bad guy, in this case the Dragonwitch, to do what they did. As much as I thought the Dragonwitch was a psychopath, I couldn't help, but feel really sorry for her. The main characters in this book, Leta, Alistair, Mouse and Florien were exceptional. They were really fun to get to know. Leta and Mouse came across as meek and mild characters, but had so much strength hidden underneath. Alistair and Florien were the same, but in different ways. It was fascinating to see how their characters developed throughout 'Dragonwitch'. Eanrin was so different in 'Dragonwitch'. In 'Starflower', the bard in him showed through clearly. In 'Dragonwitch', it showed the warrior he was and apart from one mention of Lady Gleamdren, there was nothing, which I really liked, because I really couldn't stand that character in the last book. Anne Elisabeth Stengl has a wonderful writing style and managed to hook my interest in 'Dragonwitch' straight away. The imagery in this book was very lovely and it was easy to picture each scene. The ending was open and I have to wonder if there is another book coming, even with everything that happened in this book. I hope there is because I'm definitely up to reading it.As you can tell, I loved this book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes really awesome writing and high fantasy. Now for my rating:-Five out of five starsThis review can be found here:-http://magicalmanuscriptsandwritingthings.blogspot.co.nz/
