This is a wonderful historical/paranormal story about Violet, a human girl who can see ghosts for real. when the story first starts she is helping her mother who portrays herself to be a spiritual medium but who is in fact a fraud.It is based in the year 1872 but Violet's story comes to life when Rowena, a girl who was murdered, haunts her so they can help to track down her killer.Another character is Colin, who is a boy she grew up with and who develops as her love interest. It is a very sweet, but suspenseful story and I was hooked from page one. I really enjoyed it and once I had started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I think that's probably because I love historical and paranormal fiction and this had both.
