James Dashner's third novel in the Maze Runner series brings us back to Thomas, Minho and Newt, three former dwellers of the Maze. It's the final journey to stop Wicked from the extremes of their planing to find a cure for the 'Flare' - a disease that is taking over humans and making them act in unexpected ways.Thomas still has his role as leader, but this time for a handful of people who chose not to get their memories back. I kind of understood why he did that. No matter how many times Teresa said Wicked was good, I couldn't believe it. Even in this third book, relationships changed in ways that were expected, but in other cases not at all. It really felt like an end of an era, like saying goodbye to an exciting family friend.The book held a lot of surprises, well for me at least, and a lot of sadness and bittersweet moments as well. So much happened in this book that there was never a dull moment. It was full of action and reveals, although, that being said, we never found out any more about what had been discovered with their blueprint. But, that's another story. Even though, we got a taste of 'Cranks' in the last book, I never truly realized how horrible it was until I read more scenes about them. Their lives would have been horrible and I could understand why they wanted to find a cure so badly. The book settled a lot of questions for me and, on the whole, I was happy with the outcome. And, I still found this series better and more satisfying than the Hunger Games.
